Jim Murdoch
Partner
Jim Murdoch is a Partner at Rubicon, where he leads the firm’s Analysis function and serves as Process Industry Sector Lead. He brings more than 27 years of operational consulting experience across chemicals, oil & gas, mining, life sciences, manufacturing, and private equity.
Throughout his career, Jim has been driven by one consistent theme: building organizations. Early in his career at Prudential Financial, he was instrumental in building an internal consulting group from the ground up. He later played a central role in revitalizing MTG, Ltd. into an attractive acquisition for WorleyParsons, and then contributed to the early days of building Advisian, WorleyParsons’ consulting arm. That entrepreneurial instinct ultimately led Jim to co-found his own firms, first Audere Partners, then ArMur Consulting, before joining Rubicon as part of the next chapter of that same journey.
Across those roles, Jim and his teams have identified and delivered over $750 million in financial value for clients, working across the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. He is known for his ability to rapidly diagnose complex operational challenges and for developing the roadmaps and teams that deliver results that last.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from Carnegie Mellon University and lives in Cary, North Carolina. His outside interests include exploring new travel destinations with his family, wine collecting, and all things Scotland.
